Hale Mele is a family-friendly luxury vacation home in Mauna Lani on Hawaiʻi Island’s Kohala Coast, created for the kind of trips that bring people together—families, multigenerational groups, couples, friends, and those celebrating special moments.
Our homes are designed to give everyone space to be together while still having room to relax and enjoy the vacation in their own way. Because the best Hawaiʻi vacations aren’t always about filling every day. Sometimes they’re about a slow breakfast, an afternoon by the pool, a golf-cart ride to the beach, or sitting outside together as the sun goes down.
Every home has a name. Ours has a meaning.
Hale Mele means “happy song” or “joyful music” in Hawaiian, and that feeling is at the heart of these homes.
The name reflects the moments we hope guests experience here: families gathered together, conversations flowing easily, laughter filling the room, sunsets over the ocean, and memories that feel warm long after the trip ends.
We didn’t just choose a name. We built a feeling around it—a place where connection, rest, and joy come together like a song.
Hale Mele is located in the gated Champion Ridge community of Mauna Lani, along the Kohala Coast.
Our homes offer the space and comfort of a private vacation home while keeping the beaches, golf, dining, and experiences of the Kohala Coast close by. Guests also have access to the Mauna Lani Private Beach Club, making it easy to enjoy a beach day together.
Whether you’re gathering around the kitchen, relaxing by the pool, or heading out to explore, there’s room for the whole group—and privacy when you need it too.
Our original Hale Mele home is a 4,000-square-foot, single-level Polynesian-style home with four bedrooms, five full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, and two outdoor showers.
A heated saltwater pool and spa create an easy place to spend the day at home, while the spacious layout gives families and groups room to gather, relax, and settle into their own rhythm. The home sits within Champion Ridge and looks toward Mauna Kea.
Hale Mele 2 offers 5,100 square feet of space with five bedrooms and a 270-degree balcony overlooking the golf course, with views toward Mauna Kea and the sunset.
Also located in Champion Ridge, the home includes access to the Mauna Lani Private Beach Club. E-bikes and the spacious layout make it easy to enjoy both time at home and time exploring the Kohala Coast.
Traveling with family or a larger group can take a little more planning. We think about the details that help make a stay feel comfortable—from having space for everyone to gathering around the kitchen, spending an afternoon by the pool, or heading to the beach together.
When you need a little extra help, our Concierge & Guest Services can connect you with services such as private chefs, massage and acupuncture, groceries, airport transportation, babysitting and baby equipment, and additional golf carts.
The idea is simple: you enjoy the Big Island, and we help make the logistics easier.
Hale Mele is owned and managed by Peter and Theresa Gosch, who created these homes to help families and friends experience the Big Island together.
Their goal is simple: to provide welcoming Mauna Lani vacation rentals where guests can relax, reconnect, and enjoy Hawaiʻi at their own pace.
From thoughtful communication before arrival to carefully maintained homes, every detail is designed to make your stay comfortable and memorable.
The best part of Hale Mele is seeing how guests make the homes their own.
One family might spend the morning at the beach and the afternoon by the pool. Another might make a big breakfast and never leave the house. Grandparents might enjoy a quiet morning while everyone else is still sleeping. Friends might gather outside for dinner and stay there long after the sun has gone down.
There’s no single way to experience Hawaiʻi.
We simply want Hale Mele to give you the space to experience it together, at your own pace.
Whether you’re planning a family vacation, a multigenerational gathering, a celebration, or simply time away with the people you love, we’d be happy to welcome you to Mauna Lani.
Explore the homes, start planning your Big Island stay, and when you’re ready, get in touch.
We’ll save you a place in the islands.
